Damn nobodys posted any thing about Buckhorn Dam?

I fished there in my youth...and know of three places to cross below the dam. Fished for channel cats and gar fish using a wire leader for many years.

Someone drowned on the upperside of the dam and divers went down to find them and quickly came back up because of the catfish that sat on the bottom and were as big as the divers.

Shad still run up to the dam I guess but I would think that is as far as they go.....someone should build a shad run so that they can multiply in the slow deep waters on the other side....Shad roe cost about $10.00 a pound in MA.

I haven't gone there except by car. I just got a kayak at the end of last summer and was heading there from the 42 boat ramp when the weather turns warm. A 5 or 6 foot catfish? That would be a wild ride on a kayak. :)
